A STORY ABOUT YOUTH AND REBELLION IN A QUIET SUBURBAN TOWN...

Michael is a 15-year-old swimmer with Olympic talent, facing pressures from his father to excel. On the eve of transferring to a prestigious prep academy, he decides to sneak out with his friends. They chase after a local urban legend, hoping to find some adventure in their vapid suburban town.

In the Young Dark is a nostalgic joy ride propelled by the moments of youth that make growing up such an adventure. It’s about the caged-up and begging-to-break-free energy of being a teenager, when the future looms overhead but adolescence still binds you. In the Young Dark is a film with a playful and lively edge, a story our generation can relate to. We’re aiming to create a sprawling cinematic experience that encapsulates that youthful yearning for an alternate meaning of freedom.
